Accessibility at The Green

We want everyone to enjoy their stay at The Green and are happy to answer any questions about the cottage before you book.

The Green is an 18th-century cottage, so it has some of the quirks you would expect from an older property. It does not have specific accessibility features, and there are some thresholds, uneven surfaces and small changes in level which may be useful to know about before booking.

Getting into and around the cottage

There is a threshold into the property, but no steps between the entrance hall and the main living room. There is a small change in floor level between the main living area and the kitchen, and a threshold through the back door leading to the garden.

There is a downstairs WC.

The staircase and some doorways are narrower than you might find in a modern property.

The Green is not wheelchair accessible and there is no lift or adapted bathroom/wet room.

Outside

The cottage is surrounded by grass and there are no pavements immediately around the property. The area around The Green is rural, with grass, uneven surfaces and a track alongside the cottage.

There is free parking on the road directly outside The Green, with no restrictions. The track alongside the cottage can be used for loading and unloading, although we ask that access is kept clear for the neighbouring property.

The rear garden is accessed by steps. The patio and steps can become slippery when wet.

Families

The Green is family-friendly and we have a range of things available to help make travelling with children a little easier. A travel cot, high chair, extra baby gates and a window guard are available on request. Children’s books, games, Lego and child-friendly cups, plates and utensils are always available at the cottage.

If you have particular requirements

If you have a particular accessibility requirement, please get in touch before booking. We are very happy to answer questions about the cottage, talk through the layout, or provide additional photographs if that would be helpful.

We would much rather you ask us anything you need to know before booking so that you can decide whether The Green is right for you.
