I absolutely love this time of year.

The summer holidays are almost within sniffing distance, and we are so excited about all the adventures ahead.

Beach days, river days, farm days, and those wonderful days where you wake up with no real plan and simply see where the day takes you. The long summer evenings seem to stretch on forever – you really can fit three winter days into one glorious summer day!

The children are beyond excited, and I’ve decided that this year I’m determined to have just as much fun as they do. Summer is far too precious not to embrace every moment.

Our holidays are booked, including a very indulgent 10 days The Green, Lastingham. North York Moors. We’ll be sharing this beautiful little village with family and exploring our family roots in the heart of North Yorkshire. I honestly can’t wait to share this special place with them.

It’ll be all about appreciating what we have around us – long walks across the moors, sitting outside on balmy evenings until far too late with a glass of wine, gazing up at the stars, catching up, laughing, and simply enjoying each other’s company in such a beautiful, peaceful place. Distinctly low-tech, wonderfully restorative, and exactly what summer should be.

The children will disappear off on their own little adventures, building memories that I hope they’ll treasure forever, while we slow down and soak up every precious moment.

Here’s to a summer of simple pleasures, family, fresh air, and making memories… I honestly can’t wait.
