With the weather being utterly gorgeous and the bank holiday ahead of us, I thought I’d share one of our firm family favourite walks — Lastingham to Hutton-le-Hole and back again.
It’s around 4 miles in total and takes in some fantastic views across the North York Moors. Part of the route follows the roadside, before heading through woodland, over the river and across fields, eventually bringing you into Hutton-le-Hole from the back of the village.
There’s plenty to do once you get there too, including Ryedale Folk Museum, The Barn Guest House and Tearoom, The Crown Hutton Le Hole, The Old School House Deli and Bakery and Hutton le Hole Craft Workshops — all places we’d happily recommend.
It’s one of those walks that feels manageable with children because there’s a proper destination at the end (preferably involving cake or icecream!).
