Our children are obsessed with all things Roman and the other day we discovered there is a fantastic Roman Road just up the road from Lastingham in Goathland. It’s just over a mile and you can actually see the ditches and ancient materials used to build up the road. Archaeologists think it may have been built late in the Roman era, whilst others believe it may even predate the Romans.
It's free to access and worth a visit- even if just for a lovely walk on the North York Moors.
