Where will you send yours?

There’s something rather lovely about receiving a postcard in a world where communication is instant. I still adore getting something that someone has taken the time to choose, write, stamp and post. I keep every postcard I’m sent and have become a bit of a collector — especially old postcards and historic images of Lastingham and The Green, Lastingham. North York Moors..


Over the years, I’ve put together several frames of photos showing the village and the cottage through time, and last week I took delivery of a sweet little collection I found on eBay. I love reading the snippets of memories written on the back — tiny stories of past visits and moments long gone.


With that in mind, I’ve had a small batch of our own postcards made for guests to send during their stay. You’ll find them on top of the piano, in the hope they’ll carry a little piece of Lastingham to someone special.
