Fantastic day out at Eden Camp Modern History Museum!

I was looking for somewhere that would keep us busy for most of the day but didn’t rely on good weather — and it was absolutely perfect. With 22 huts, each covering a different aspects of the military and specifically Britain's WW2 story, there’s so much to explore and it’s all brilliantly put together.

The Heritage Hall, with its military vehicles, was definitely a favourite, and the team who look after everything were so knowledgeable and friendly — they really brought it all to life. The children have also declared their lunch in the café “the best ever”, which is high praise indeed!

And we can’t not mention the fantastic adventure play area — a huge hit… I even had a go on the slide myself!

Eden Camp only about a 25-minute easy drive from the The Green, Lastingham. North York Moors., with time for a quick stop in Pickering on the way back for a few bits of shopping. A really great day out and one we’d happily recommend.
